Intralesional injections for keloids

Keloid is a medical condition that is said to spread to a large extent. Its treatment is therefore is a matter of concern. One of the reliable treatment methods is the intralesional injection. Injections of this manner are percutaneously introduced the concerned areas. The therapy was introduced in 1961. The main objective of such a treatment is to directly deliver the medications to the concerned portion of the skin. The advantage of this treatment method is that the medication stays in the skin portion for quite a long period. In this case, the skin becomes a reservoir in which the medications are kept. Some of the medications that are used shall include corticosteroids and their sub-types.
